BOGOs to Bouquets: Lynchburg Valentine’s Day Specials

This Feb. 14, Lynchburg has plenty to offer.

Valentine’s Day has come around once again, so hopefully those with someone to love already have tomorrow mapped out. But if you’re finding yourself scrambling for a plan, or if you’re still summoning up the courage to ask that cute barista out, there’s still a shot! Here are ten local specials and events happening throughout Lynchburg tomorrow.

BOGOs at the White Hart Cafe

This popular main street haunt is offering buy-one-get-one-free drinks all day.

Buy Flowers at Golf Park

Pop in for a pop-up shop! This hip coffee joint is partnering with local floral designer Urban Flora to bring roses to Golf Park. Though the time for pre-orders is over, you and your sweetheart are still welcome to stop in for a brew and a bouquet. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., bouquets are $30

Get Records on the Cheap

After receiving a surplus supply of vinyls, Speakertree is doling out hundreds of records for only 25 cents. The sale will continue through Valentine’s Day to the end of the week.

Get a Dozen “Single Ladies”

Dawn and Dusk Donuts is as elusive as true love, so when they make a rare appearance near Liberty University’s Montview Student Union tomorrow, don’t let them be the food truck that got away.  Between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., this mobile establishment will be offering two special doughnuts for the occasion: the dark-chocolate-and-raspberry “LU Crush” and the oreo-chocolate-cookie-dough “Single Lady,” along with doughnut bouquets.  Order for pick-up here.

Start Planning Your Homes and Gardens

If you and your lover’s hobbies include daydreaming about rustic, open-floor-planned homes, check out the Greater Lynchburg’s Home and Garden Show’s kickoff event, the Kiss and Tell Preview Reception. Here at the River Ridge Mall, you’ll be able to enjoy champagne and light fare while touring the exhibitions and listening to live music. Raffle prizes include wine tastings, massages and gift certificates. The exhibition will be running through Sunday. $20 for reception tickets, $5 for day passes, and $10 for weekend passes.

Eat at the RA Bistro

This “New American fare” establishment is offering a spinach and artichoke appetizer with a caprese salad, and the choice between two entrees: sirloin with a lobster tail stuffed with crab and shrimp, or two lobster tails stuffed with crab and shrimp. For dessert, a chocolate cheesecake topped with strawberries and a champagne toast. $35 a person, $65 a couple. Special served only after 4 p.m.

Grab Sushi for Two-shi

Hungry for something exotic? Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi Bar is serving up two hibachi entrees served with the Sweetheart Roll, a crabmeat-cucumber-avocado number wrapped in pink soy paper and topped off with tobiko. Couples also get a dessert of their choice. $49.99, drinks are separate.

Eat at Rivermont Pizza

This pizza joint is moving their Date Night Special to Thursday this week. Couples can share an appetizer, a pizza, a dessert of tiramisu or cannolis and a bottle of red or white wine. $30 for two.

Get Brunch at Market at Main

This restaurant is offering an extensive special brunch and dinner menu available from Feb. 13 to Feb. 15. Brunch includes red velvet pancakes, a lamb burger or a Monte Cristo-style sandwich.

Those dining after 4 p.m. can enjoy a 10-oz. New York Strip Steak, Garlic Shrimp Pasta or Chicken Marsala, and finish with a flourless chocolate cake, carrot cake or red velvet cheesecake.

(If you and your significant other are the breakfast-all-day type, don’t worry–the brunch menu is available all day.) Food items range from $5 to $24.

Dance Downtown

The night will be young and so are you, so take your chiquitita down to the Riverview Artspace and attend Lynchburg Salsa’s annual Valentine’s Day Masquerade Ball. This event offers a beginner’s lesson at 8 p.m., with regular dancing between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. $4 pre-order, $5 at the door.
